5 TIPS ON HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM IN CONTENT WRITING | ONLINE BUSINESS

Libraries are filled with contents in various field of study and the world has about 1.18billion websites filled with contents according to siteefy (ref = https://siteefy.com/how-many-websites-are-there/)

Plagiarism

A question from my mentor Mr Hassan; "Do you think that the world still needs more content"? The answer is YES.

If you have an online business, I recommend you to check your contents for Plagiarism before publishing even if you are a professional writer.

Your ideas must have been written by others but it can not be 100% exactly like yours. If some part of your content has been written by someone, does it mean you have plagiarized? Get your answers as you read along.

In this article, I will discuss how to avoid plagiarism and why a Plagiarism Checker is very important if you want to grow online.

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?

Plagiarism is the process of presenting someone content or ideas as yours without referencing or acknowledging the original owner. Everybody is trying to make a point and convey a message either in writing or otherwise. As a result, some contents have similarities with a bit of difference and some look exactly like Mr "A" statements. This act can be deliberate and may also be a coincidence. But either way plagiarism has occurred.

SELF-PLAGIARISING

Because you are the original writer of a particular article, that does not mean you can always copy and paste your old content to form the new ones without referencing the first article.

Self-plagiarism is all about re-using the contents that you have already published.

I know it's your content but try your best to avoid it.

WHY SHOULD YOU AVOID PLAGIARISM?

As a writer, your primary motive is to convey your thoughts about the topic you are writing. And if you want to turn your readers to buyers, you should learn how to convince them using your imagination.

A brief story about me.

Years back when I heard about affiliate marketing and blogger, I created a free blog and started copying and publishing trending content. I then applied for some affiliate programs in order to earn money but I got a reply from affiliate company saying " Why should I pay you $10 when you can not write your own content?" The blog was instantly banned by Google.

I was so ashamed of myself and even with my wide imagination I do not know how to write down my own thoughts until I recently watched some YouTube videos about digital marketing, making money online and more.

Here I am writing down my thoughts. Even if it's not professional, I am able to convey my thoughts and you are not exempted.

5 TIPS | HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM

Avoiding plagiarism will earn you more money, integrity and preserve your reputation. Below are the most important tips needed to avoid plagiarism in your content.

1.  DEEP RESEARCH

In order to avoid plagiarism, you need to do some research to find out what people are searching for about the topic you intend to write on.

Use google to your own advantage by searching for your topics. From the searching results, you will find related searches and what people are also asking about your searched topic. These will help you form your content outline (table of content).

Browse through other articles about your proposed topic, study more and note down what you felt is missing and those things that are outdated.

To make your content stand out, your information must be up to date.

2.  CITE YOUR SOURCE

In your research, there must be some information that is peculiar to certain things and was never part of your idea. Referencing such information is not a crime and that will not drive your readers away from your content. Rather it increase the credibility of your contents.

3.  PRESENT YOUR OWN IDEA

You thought of something before you decided to write about it. If your idea is not competitive enough, do some research and read more about the topic in order to acquire more knowledge before starting your write-ups. According to sabp.nhs.uk,  "research improves and treatments not just for you but also for future generations".

4.  LEARN TO PARAPHRASE

After checking your content for plagiarism and discovering that some part of it is already existing, you need to rephrase that content.

There are two methods I always use while rephrasing my content; The first method is using Article Rewriting Tool and the second method is all about replacing some words with its definition instead of replacing the words with synonyms. You can choose any of the methods and both.

5.  USE PLAGIARISM CHECKER TOOLS

Plagiarism checker is an online tool used to check the uniqueness of your contents. These tools scan through other web content looking for the existence of your content in other websites and display the result in percentage (%). It shows the percentage uniqueness (Good or Already Exist) of your content
